Cervical Facet Medial Branch Blocks

The cervical facet joints are the tiny joints in the cervical spine that allow people to bend and twist their neck area. These joints are also common sources of neck and upper back pain. The cervical medial branches are the tiny nerves that supply these joints. The placement of a small amount of numbing medicine and steroid on these nerves using X-ray guidance can relieve the neck pain that comes from facet joint dysfunction.
